Know when the show is over. Plan an interval, watch the clock, and close the curtain whenever play stops being pleasant.
Schedule an interval
Choose the curtain time in advance and stand up for regular intervals. Do not wait for a satisfying screen before ending the show.
Separate drama from life
Reel tension is scripted entertainment. It should never displace rest, obligations, close relationships, movement, or financial attention.
Recognize an overlong run
Concealing attendance, replaying while distressed, ignoring plans, and breaking repeated promises to stop signal that the theatre should stay closed.
